Jay’s patient experience in the 1980’s left an indelible impression on him that deep and broad change was needed across this most personal of industries. He has enjoyed serving in multiple CEO and senior executive roles in health systems and integrated delivery systems. His focus in these organizations has been on leading change through aligned teams, creative thinking, and operational excellence. Select highlights include:

 Chief architect of a nationally recognized regional population health model that decreased utilization and costs, aligned providers across competing organizations, increased quality, and created coordinated patient experiences.

• National recognition by the Dartmouth Atlas and Institute for Health Improvement (IHI) for quality and cost performance.

• Achieving top 5% in the nation results for clinical excellence, length of stay, and physician satisfaction.

• Receiving the “Most Innovative Hospital in Oregon” award.

• Multiple financial, strategic, cultural, and operational turnarounds.

Jay serves on a number of for-profit and non-profit boards. He holds an MHA from the Medical College of Virginia and a BBA from James Madison University. He lives in Bend, OR with his family and loves to explore the wilds of the Pacific Northwest.
